University of the Cumberlands is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Evening and Weekend Reference Librarian to join our academic community. This remote role focuses on providing essential research support and reference services to students and faculty during non-traditional hours, contributing to our mission of fostering intellectual growth and academic excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive reference and research assistance to students and faculty via virtual communication channels during evening and weekend hours.
- Develop, review, and maintain library research guides, instructional materials, and digital tutorials.
- Troubleshoot library systems and electronic resource access issues, escalating support tickets when necessary.
- Collaborate with library staff on service improvements, policy development, and various library initiatives.
- Support resource-sharing services and assist with interlibrary loan requests.
Requirements
- MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited program.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting the University’s mission and adhering to institutional policies.
- Familiarity with Springshare suite and current web authoring tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of integrated library systems, particularly Ex Libris, is highly desirable.
