Engineering Manager, Trusted Agentic Development

GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, enabling organizations to accelerate digital transformation and improve developer productivity. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Trusted Agentic Development team, focusing on building platforms that ensure agent-generated code is reliable, secure, and trustworthy.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers focused on solving the challenges of agentic development.
• Define the technical strategy for validating agent-generated software and creating fast, automatic feedback loops.
• Partner with engineering teams across GitLab to drive adoption of validation tools through influence and product excellence.
• Engage in architecture and design discussions to maintain technical depth and provide clear direction.
• Foster a culture of ownership, iteration, and transparency while managing team performance and growth.

Requirements

• Direct experience using AI agents to build software, with a clear understanding of the limitations of automated testing.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams through ambiguous, early-stage technical problems.
• Ability to drive adoption and influence cross-functional partners without relying on mandates.
• Strong technical background to engage credibly with senior engineers on complex architecture and validation strategies.
• Excellent written communication skills, essential for success in our all-remote, asynchronous environment.
