Join Deviniti as an Engineering Manager and grow together with us!

No time to read? That’s okay! Here’s a short summary:

  • Stack: Jira, Confluence, Agile / Scrum, AI tools, people management, product development
  • Hours: full time
  • Mode: remote
  • Team: up to 15 people (developers, QA)
  • Project: development of proprietary plugins/extensions for Jira (Atlassian Marketplace)

What will you work on as an Engineering Manager?

The Atlassian Apps unit works on building our own apps and extensions for Jira, available on the Atlassian Marketplace. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who will help us scale our engineering organization, support teams in their day-to-day work, and co-create an environment where ownership, quality, collaboration, and efficient delivery are truly shared across teams. This role goes beyond working with a single team - you’ll operate across multiple product teams, combining perspectives of people, product, technology, and organization.

Who will you work with?

You’ll join a product-focused, Scrum-based environment, working in cross-functional teams close to both code and business. In practice, this means:

  • we regularly share knowledge and document best practices;
  • technical decisions are made collaboratively — arguments matter more than titles;
  • we use AI tools in our daily work;
  • we focus on a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous learning;
  • Team Leaders support teams operationally, while Engineering Managers focus on people development, performance management, and broader organizational effectiveness.

What tasks await you in this role?

  • managing and developing engineering teams;
  • building a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
  • planning and coordinating team work in sprint and quarterly cycles;
  • supporting developers in their professional and technical growth;
  • collaborating with Product Managers on backlog prioritization and dependencies;
  • ensuring delivery predictability by identifying and removing obstacles;
  • participating in recruitment and onboarding;
  • working with other Engineering Managers to build consistent engineering practices;
  • contributing to initiatives that improve how the engineering department operates.

You are the one we’re looking for, if you have the following skills:

  • experience as an Engineering Manager or Team Leader (min. 2–3 years);
  • strong technical background and understanding of developers’ day-to-day challenges;
  • experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies;
  • experience with tools like Jira (or similar);
  • experience in recruitment and onboarding processes;
  • very good command of English (B2/C1);
  • Nice to have: familiarity with the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence);
  • experience in a SaaS or product environment;
  • knowledge of engineering metrics (DORA, cycle time, deployment frequency);
  • experience with AI tools supporting team work.

But you can also work in a team!

In particular, we value:

  • trust-based leadership and building an environment where people take ownership;
  • ability to handle difficult conversations, give honest and constructive feedback, and clearly communicate expectations;
  • systems thinking and understanding dependencies across teams;
  • adaptability and supporting teams through change;
  • strong communication skills, bridging technical and business perspectives;
  • proactivity, ownership, and accountability in decision-making.

What do we care about?

  • Your mental and physical well-being: we offer access to Mindgram, and we also have a running led by our own coach, who motivates us to get up from behind our desks and engage in physical activity together.
  • The development of your skills: each team has their career paths and we also participate in both internal and external trainings to constantly learn more.
  • Your opinion and influence on your work environment: we use Officevibe (an employee experience platform), and we cultivate the culture of constructive feedback and recognition.
  • Your freedom: apart from working from home and flexible hours matching your lifestyle, we also have many hobby groups that allow you to share your passions with others. So, are you interested in arts and crafts, literature, plants, board games or sports?
  • The world and people: through our CSR program “Deviniti Cares” we take care about our planet, as well as about people around the world. Together we decide what causes we support, and we help by using the quarterly budget established entirely for charity initiatives.

You can expect the following 4 recruitment stages:

  1. CV screening - we read about your experience and make sure that it matches our needs.
  2. Phone interview - during these 30 minutes the recruiter describes the role further and asks a few questions (i.e. about your expectations and notice period).
  3. Online interview (and optionally: technical task/additional meeting) - here you meet the recruiter, the team leader, and a specialist, who verify your skills. The meeting usually lasts about 1h/1,5h.
  4. The decision, which is presented to you about 2 weeks after the interview.
