Engineering Manager - Front-End (UI/UX)

StackBlitz is the team behind WebContainers and Bolt.new, an AI-powered platform that enables users to build, edit, and deploy full-stack applications directly in the browser. We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Front-End team, balancing technical architecture with people management in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the UI architecture, including component patterns, state management, and frontend infrastructure.
• Write code regularly on complex features and architectural improvements while reviewing UI pull requests.
• Conduct performance reviews, manage career development, and foster a high-performing, autonomous team culture.
• Coordinate with other team leads to align on technical initiatives, resource allocation, and cross-domain architectural decisions.
• Champion AI-native development by building AI-powered UI features and integrating agent interaction patterns.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of frontend development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture, including performance optimization.
• Strong UX sensibilities with the ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Proven track record of growing engineers to senior and staff levels and managing team performance.
• Pragmatic mindset with a bias toward action and the ability to tie technical work to business outcomes.
