Engineering Manager - Foundations & Enablement

Storyblok is a headless CMS that enables marketers and developers to create with joy and publish with confidence. We are looking for a motivated Engineering Manager to lead our Foundations & Enablement team, which provides the essential tooling, security practices, and shared systems that empower our entire engineering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a cross-functional team of engineers, focusing on delivery, people development, and process improvement.
• Balance the team's technical roadmap with prioritized requests from product teams, ensuring transparent communication regarding trade-offs.
• Maintain and evolve engineering-wide standards, including CI/CD, developer experience, and security practices.
• Partner with the Infrastructure team on shared platform concerns while maintaining clear ownership boundaries.
• Own recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to grow and strengthen the team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software development, including at least 2 years in an engineering leadership role.
• Technical range to support a mixed-discipline team across both frontend and backend engineering.
• Hands-on experience with scalability, reliability, observability, and security principles.
• Proven ability to lead teams in execution, resolve blockers, and manage stakeholders across multiple teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor senior and staff engineers effectively.
