DRG Validator

UASI is a leading organization partnering with top hospitals and HIM experts, currently seeking a talented DRG Validator to join our remote team. This role provides a unique opportunity to utilize and expand your coding expertise while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to validate the accuracy of assigned DRGs and ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and CMS regulations.
• Identify discrepancies in coding or documentation and recommend necessary corrections to maintain data integrity.
• Collaborate effectively with coding teams, CDI specialists, and physicians to clarify clinical documentation.
• Conduct thorough audits to detect undercoding, overcoding, or billing errors and provide feedback to coding staff on DRG optimization.

Requirements

• Possession of a certified coding credential such as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in inpatient coding, auditing, or DRG validation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems and MS-DRG/APR-DRG methodologies.
• Strong technical proficiency, including experience with VPNs, multi-factor authentication, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule and high standards of productivity.
