Dispatcher / Load Planner

Zelh is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatcher / Load Planner to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing truck utilization, planning efficient routes, securing backhaul opportunities, and ensuring that all drivers operate safely and efficiently while remaining fully compliant with DOT and Hours of Service regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the real-time location and route progress of drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Plan and secure backhaul loads to maximize equipment utilization and minimize empty miles.
• Coordinate driver schedules in advance based on specific delivery times and locations.
• Ensure all dispatching activities strictly comply with Hours of Service and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate proactively with drivers and internal teams.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dispatcher, Load Planner, or in a similar transportation and logistics role.
• Strong understanding of truckload operations and effective load planning strategies.
• Solid knowledge of Hours of Service and DOT regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, effective operational decisions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in English.
