Director, Revenue Cycle

Upward Health is an in-home, multidisciplinary medical group providing 24/7 whole-person care. We are seeking a Director, Revenue Cycle to serve as the enterprise owner of end-to-end revenue cycle performance, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including intake, coding, claims submission, denial management, and payment posting.
• Serve as the internal subject matter expert for Athenahealth, optimizing workflows and system rules to maximize clean claim rates.
• Build and maintain dashboards to translate complex data into clear insights and operational improvements.
• Design and standardize SOPs to reduce manual intervention and support organizational growth.
• Lead and develop teams across billing, coding, and accounts receivable functions.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management.
• Direct, hands-on experience with Athenahealth.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling and reporting automation.
• Proven track record of improving revenue cycle KPIs and operational efficiency.
• Experience leading teams within a healthcare billing or revenue cycle environment.
