Director of Tech Innovation

Climate Dialogue Japan is seeking a visionary Director of Tech Innovation to lead the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to advance our global mission. This strategic role focuses on integrating digital tools to enhance programmatic impact, research, and data management while ensuring responsible and ethical technology governance.

Key responsibilities

• Devise and implement strategies to leverage AI and emerging technologies to scale organizational impact.
• Provide horizon scanning to identify technological trends, opportunities, and risks relevant to our strategic communications.
• Manage the strategy, execution, and budget for pilot projects, technology builds, and integration initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish digital guardrails and AI governance frameworks for secure and ethical tech usage.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to deliver complex technical solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in designing and deploying digital, AI, or automation technologies.
• Proven success in managing external technical vendors and delivering complex projects within budget.
• Strong familiarity with strategic communications, media monitoring, or digital narrative tracking.
• Deep understanding of Generative AI, automation workflows, and data management systems.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
