Director of MEAL

Imagine Worldwide is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children across Sub-Saharan Africa with essential literacy and numeracy skills through innovative, tablet-based learning solutions. We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of MEAL to lead our monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts, ensuring our programs are data-driven, impactful, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee MEAL frameworks, indicators, and measurement plans across all portfolio countries.
• Refine the organizational Theory of Change and ensure alignment with learning outcome goals.
• Develop and maintain Master Data Management standards, data governance, and quality assurance protocols.
• Lead the development of dashboards and analytic models to support delivery teams and drive program innovation.
• Build a strong data culture by upskilling teams and fostering data literacy across the organization.

Requirements

• Honours Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science, MEAL, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data-related roles, with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level.
• Proven experience in building data-driven cultures and managing enterprise data interventions.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, cleaning, and quality frameworks.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data for diverse audiences.
• Experience working effectively within multicultural, remote teams.
