Director of Automation Engineering

Huzzle is seeking a Director of Automation Engineering to join our team in a senior, hands-on leadership role. You will operate at the intersection of automation architecture, product engineering, and AI systems, working directly with the founder to scale our infrastructure and build innovative software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end automation ecosystem, including workflow design, orchestration, monitoring, and scaling across multi-client environments.
• Build internal and client-facing products that transform operational processes into repeatable software, leading the full product engineering lifecycle.
• Design and deploy production-grade AI systems using LLM infrastructure to improve classification, generation, and decision support.
• Build, mentor, and manage a growing automation engineering team while maintaining a high-performance delivery culture.
• Partner with leadership on technical strategy, roadmap planning, and critical build-vs-buy decisions.

Requirements

• Deep production-level experience with n8n, including complex workflows, error handling, and system scalability.
• Strong full-stack development skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Proven experience building and maintaining AI/LLM systems in production, including validation layers and cost-aware implementation.
• Experience managing engineering teams of 3+ people while remaining actively hands-on in production code.
• Strong systems architecture capability with a track record of designing for resilience and maintainability.
