Director, Global Amplify Programs

Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) is a not-for-profit impact investment fund supporting independent media ventures worldwide. We are seeking a Director to lead our flagship Amplify program, a global incubation and accelerator initiative designed to help media entrepreneurs build sustainable and independent news businesses across Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic design and evolution of the Amplify incubation and accelerator model in partnership with senior leadership.
• Manage end-to-end cohort operations, including sourcing, selection, programming, mentoring, and milestone tracking.
• Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and performance management to a distributed regional team.
• Guide cohort companies toward investment readiness by collaborating on financial and business-model diagnostics.
• Oversee global monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for the Amplify portfolio, including donor-facing documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in venture support, startup incubation, accelerator leadership, or media innovation.
• 3-5 years in a senior management role with accountability for program outcomes and team performance.
• Proven track record of designing or running incubator or venture-support programs.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, business-model development, and the global media landscape.
• Excellent facilitation and relationship-building skills across diverse cultural contexts.
