Director, AI Platforms - Data & Technology

Parexel is a leading global biopharmaceutical services company dedicated to improving world health by transforming scientific discoveries into new treatments. We are currently seeking a Director of AI Platforms to join our Data & Technology group and lead the engineering team responsible for the technical foundation that powers AI delivery across our organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the AI platform strategy in alignment with enterprise AI goals.
• Own architectural decisions for AI-first platforms, including infrastructure and orchestration.
• Ensure platform reliability, performance, and observability for AI workloads in production.
• Manage operational relationships with AI-specific vendors and serve as an escalation point.
• Lead and develop a high-trust team of platform engineers while remaining technically hands-on.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, or AI/ML infrastructure at a leadership level.
• Advanced experience operating AI platforms in production, including GenAI runtimes and MLOps tooling.
• Technical depth in cloud-based platform engineering, specifically AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with enterprise GenAI platforms or custom assistant infrastructure.
• Ability to work effectively within a regulated environment and manage vendor contracts.
