DevOps Engineer with Kafka

Be | Shaping the Future Poland is a trusted partner for financial services organizations, specializing in complex system implementations. We are currently seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and ensure the production readiness of a high-volume booking processing system.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and implementing horizontal scaling, autoscaling, and performance tuning strategies to handle high transaction volumes.
• Establishing robust observability through golden-signal metrics, centralized logging, and distributed tracing.
• Ensuring messaging reliability in Kafka by managing partitioning, consumer design, backpressure, and schema governance.
• Developing comprehensive disaster recovery plans, including replication, sharding, and regular backup testing.
• Managing CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates, canary deployments, and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Implementing SRE governance practices, including SLI/SLO definitions, incident response, and reliability-focused design.

Requirements

• Proven track record of successfully bringing distributed, event-driven, high-throughput systems into production environments.
• Solid knowledge of DevOps and SRE best practices with the ability to translate them into pragmatic, scalable solutions.
• Hands-on production experience working with Kafka and MongoDB.
• Fluency in English, allowing for effective communication within an international team.
