Development Enablement Specialist

Horace Mann is seeking a Development Enablement Specialist to build a structured framework for software development across the organization. You will own the training program, governance processes, and technical support, ensuring that developers at all levels can build solutions with confidence and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop a tiered developer training program covering builder levels and specialized modules like AI/LLM use and data handling.
• Build and manage the solution intake and classification process to guide new projects from idea to approved build path.
• Establish an ongoing compliance model to track training completion, access gating, and policy attestations.
• Provide technical assistance to developers, serving as the primary point of contact for process and tooling inquiries.
• Collaborate with Security, Architecture, and Data teams to maintain documentation and ensure processes remain current.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or software development.
• Strong familiarity with modern development practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and package management.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for diverse audiences.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage curriculum, documentation, and compliance tracking simultaneously.
