🚀 About the role
As a Delivery Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of projects, leading teams of up to 50 people in total. you'll oversee the delivery at the portfolio level, ensuring consistency, efficiency, profitability, team and client satisfaction. You'll also be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients, including the contractual side (agreements, SOWs, purchase orders) and renewals.
We're looking for a seasoned leader with proven experience in delivery management who can step into this role at full capacity from day one. You're comfortable talking to clients at the executive level (CxO/VP/Director), understand project pricing and P&L models, and know how to mentor Project Managers.
Tasks
Managing an assigned portfolio of projects
Monitoring portfolio and project status, with proactive escalation prevention and early issue identification
Ensuring consistency, efficiency, and profitability of delivery across the portfolio, in line with enterprise risk-management practices (proactive risk identification, mitigation, and transparent reporting)
Reporting portfolio results to the Head of Delivery (e.g. % of projects on time and on budget, gross margin, client NPS)
Overseeing and mentoring Project Managers and Team Leads, with a focus on leadership and soft skills
Building and maintaining trusted relationships with client executives (CxO/VP/Director)
Leading renewals and contract extensions, and owning the contractual side (SOWs, purchase orders)
Driving portfolio growth through identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities within managed accounts, and taking part in the pre-sales process
Calculating profitability (P&L) for offers and reviewing them for delivery feasibility
Implementing and improving delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, and others) and AI-driven process improvements
Collaborating with the Resource Management team on team allocations, resource planning, and staffing/workforce strategy aligned with portfolio demand and growth plans
Contributing to company-wide delivery and leadership initiatives, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
Stepping in to directly manage projects in exceptional situations (e.g. covering for a Project Manager during leave)
Must have
Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project management
Experience managing teams of at least 25 people
Knowledge of pricing models, project P&L, margin, utilization, and forecasting
Proficiency working with enterprise clients (pre-sales, presentations, negotiations)
Strong, hands-on knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, and others)
A proven track record of successful project delivery, including fixed-price projects
Experience in building trusted-advisor relationships with senior client stakeholders, including C-level and VP-level executives
Ability to mentor and develop Project Managers and Team Leads (leadership and soft-skills coaching)
Strong negotiation and communication skills at the management level
English at a minimum C1 level
Ability to lead strategic discussions on delivery roadmaps, operating models, risks, constraints, and long-term technology direction
Nice to have
Certifications such as PMBoK, Prince2, Agile, or risk management
Based in Kraków or the surrounding area (or open to occasional travel for in-person workshops and meetings at our Kraków office)
