Logos is a movement dedicated to developing the decentralized web and building infrastructure for a freer internet. The Messaging team is currently focused on creating permissionless, interoperable communication tools that prioritize user privacy and decentralization, specifically working on decentralized group messaging over MLS.
Key responsibilities
- Implement messaging protocols in our reference SDK by translating complex specifications into reliable, production-quality Rust code.
- Design the API and developer experience for the SDK, focusing on intuitive abstractions and high-quality documentation.
- Contribute directly to the evolution of messaging protocol specifications alongside the core team.
- Collaborate in an asynchronous environment, participating in technical design discussions and contributing to project documentation.
- Take ownership of technical challenges, working across different areas of the stack to ensure the success of our decentralized communication goals.
Requirements
- Solid experience with Rust, including writing maintainable and reliable code within a collaborative team setting.
- Deep understanding of real-world instant messaging systems, such as Signal, Matrix, or XMPP, and the trade-offs involved in their architecture.
- Experience with decentralized computing, including peer-to-peer systems or distributed network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cryptographic primitives, including key exchanges, signatures, and principles like forward secrecy.
- Strong alignment with the values of open protocols, decentralization, and the Logos manifesto.
What we offer
- The opportunity to work on frontier technology where you can shape the future of decentralized communication.
- A fully remote and asynchronous working environment that values autonomy and deep technical work.
- Direct ownership over SDK development and the ability to influence core protocol design.
- Collaboration with a passionate team dedicated to upholding civil liberties and fundamental freedoms through technology.
