DBA (Aurora PostgreSQL)

DataArt is seeking an experienced DBA to lead the database layer of a large-scale migration project for a major investment management client. You will be responsible for migrating environments from Azure SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute the migration from Azure SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Transform system-versioned tables into PostgreSQL trigger-based history patterns using PL/pgSQL.
• Manage schema changes using Flyway migration scripts and define database standards.
• Implement AWS RDS IAM authentication, KMS encryption, and least-privilege access controls.
• Perform performance tuning, index strategy optimization, and autovacuum configuration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience working with PostgreSQL.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Aurora PostgreSQL and AWS RDS environments.
• Proven experience in migrating databases from Azure SQL or SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Solid knowledge of PL/pgSQL, schema design, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with security best practices for cloud-based databases.
