DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer

SNI is a trusted IT outsourcing partner serving prestigious global firms, currently seeking a skilled DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer to join our remote team. You will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing complex mainframe database environments for our enterprise clients.

Key responsibilities

• Install, customize, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS environments and associated ISV tools from vendors like IBM and Broadcom.
• Execute software maintenance using SMP/E across MVS/z/OS environments, including applying service updates.
• Administer Db2 access control and security rules using RACF and ACF2 to manage system authorizations.
• Perform system performance tuning, monitoring, database sizing, and troubleshooting to resolve processing anomalies.
• Support disaster recovery strategies and lead functional testing for tertiary backup environments.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in the installation, customization, and maintenance of Db2 for z/OS and SMP/E.
• Deep understanding of relational database concepts, IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, and file structures.
• Practical experience implementing RACF or ACF2 security models and executing disaster recovery protocols.
• High proficiency with ecosystem tools and ISV software from IBM, Broadcom, and Computer Associates.
• Strong root-cause analysis skills and excellent English communication abilities.
