Databricks Genie Engineer

Entrada AI is a specialized consulting partner and a strategic portfolio company of Databricks Ventures, recognized for deploying Databricks Genie at enterprise scale. We are seeking a Databricks Genie Engineer to design, implement, and scale intelligent, natural-language data assistants that bridge the gap between complex enterprise data warehouses and business users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain high-performing Databricks Genie Spaces tailored to complex business domains.
• Curate semantic metadata, SQL queries, and golden instructions to ensure accurate, deterministic SQL generation.
• Proactively test, benchmark, and fine-tune Genie responses to handle complex business logic and edge cases.
• Build and optimize data pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark to ensure data is structured for Genie's consumption.
• Act as a translator between business users and the data platform to structure schemas effectively.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with the Databricks ecosystem, including Genie, Unity Catalog, and Databricks SQL.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience structuring data for Text-to-SQL readiness.
• Strong proficiency in writing clean, production-grade Python code.
• Solid understanding of GenAI/LLM concepts, including prompt engineering, semantic routing, and RAG architectures.
• Proficiency in Apache Spark for data transformation and orchestration.
