Database Administrator / Database Engineer (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Informix)

Cognizant is a leading global professional services company seeking an experienced Database Administrator or Database Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing a diverse range of enterprise database systems to ensure the performance and reliability of mission-critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Informix database environments.
• Manage database schemas, objects, storage allocation, and perform capacity planning.
• Execute database migrations and handle version upgrades across various platforms.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance tuning for all supported database systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Oracle (RAC, ASM, Data Guard), PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Informix.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced database troubleshooting techniques.
• Solid experience working within Linux/Unix operating environments.
• Knowledge of backup tools, monitoring solutions, and database automation practices.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
