Data Scientist - Navy

Significance, Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm dedicated to supporting federal civilian and Department of Defense customers. We are currently seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team in a fully remote capacity to support the U.S. Navy by managing enterprise-level data systems and delivering high-impact analytical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize databases and structured data systems to meet enterprise information requirements.
• Create and manage comprehensive data models, schemas, and dictionaries to ensure consistency across all organizational systems.
• Implement robust data governance processes, including quality checks and validation routines, to maintain data integrity and compliance.
• Design and execute efficient data ingestion, transformation, and lifecycle management workflows.
• Perform advanced analytical modeling, such as scenario analysis and forecasting, to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in database architecture, SQL, and the management of structured data environments.
• Proven experience in developing large-scale data models and metadata frameworks.
• Expertise in data governance, quality assurance, and the implementation of standardized data practices.
• Advanced programming skills in Python or R for data engineering, analytics, and scientific computing.
• Experience building ETL pipelines and automated data workflows to streamline processing.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
