Data Engineer – Senior

Astral Forest is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and take ownership of complex data environments. We specialize in optimizing existing platforms, making this an ideal role for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys modern cloud technologies and wants to make a tangible impact on our clients' data architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and improve GCP data solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and transformations using Python, dbt, and Airflow.
• Take over existing environments, map current architectures, document processes, and ensure system reliability.
• Review the work of other engineers and provide clear, constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
• Utilize Terraform, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines to manage the full deployment lifecycle.

Requirements

• At least 5-6 years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on expertise with Python, dbt, and Airflow.
• Solid knowledge of data modeling, integration, and security practices.
• Proven ability to work independently in complex, unfamiliar environments and mentor team members.
• Consultant mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to different domains and client needs.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
