Data Engineer – Speech Data Sourcing

We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to lead speech data sourcing for an advanced speech processing project, combining technical expertise with vendor and data quality management.

Key responsibilities

• Owning the end-to-end speech data sourcing process for embedded systems.
• Managing external vendors, including selection, negotiation, and delivery oversight.
• Defining recording protocols, acceptance criteria, and managing data acquisition budgets.
• Building and maintaining audio and metadata pipelines using Python.
• Ensuring full compliance with GDPR and licensing requirements for biometric data.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with audio and speech data.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building robust data pipelines.
• Familiarity with dataset versioning tools and best practices.
• Solid understanding of GDPR regulations, specifically regarding biometric data.
• Experience in managing external vendors and project budgets.
• Fluent English communication skills.
