Council of Europe Trainee

The Council of Europe invites motivated individuals to join its traineeship programme, dedicated to the promotion of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside international experts and gain valuable experience within a prestigious European institution.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting in-depth research and contributing to the drafting of reports and studies.
• Capturing and synthesising key outcomes from high-level meetings and discussions.
• Developing communication content to support the organisation's mission.
• Playing an active role in the organisation and coordination of committee meetings and expert events.

Requirements

• Completion of at least three years of university study with a degree awarded under the Bologna process framework.
• Very good command of either English or French, the two official languages of the Council of Europe.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and a citizen of a Council of Europe member state.
• No prior participation in a Council of Europe traineeship, study visit, or previous employment with the organisation.
• Not a close relative of a current member of the Council of Europe staff.
