Corporate Counsel

PubNub is a leading product company powering real-time experiences for thousands of global organizations. We are seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join our legal team on a B2B contract basis, focusing on technology transactions and supporting our fast-growing international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology agreements, including SaaS contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership deals.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across Sales, Product, Finance, and executive leadership to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance.
• Support product launches and go-to-market initiatives while identifying and mitigating operational and legal risks.
• Assist with privacy and regulatory compliance matters, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, as well as ongoing SOC 2 and ISO 27001 initiatives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and operational workflows.

Requirements

• Law degree with strong academic credentials and active membership in a recognized bar association.
• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience in the technology sector, either in-house or at a law firm.
• Deep expertise in technology transactions, SaaS licensing, and complex commercial contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of cloud services, software business models, and international business operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
