Contract Platform Engineer

YLD.io is a remote-first consultancy specializing in software engineering, product design, and data. We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer to join a client team, where you will take ownership of cloud access, identity management, and a significant portion of infrastructure-as-code to support shared environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cloud access and identity governance across the client's cloud estate.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions to support multiple internal teams.
• Implement and manage new tooling to enhance cloud infrastructure capabilities.
• Perform careful change management to ensure the stability of shared, high-blast-radius infrastructure.
• Act as a technical resource to unblock other engineering teams and improve overall system reliability.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, specifically IAM, IAM Identity Center, and AWS Organizations.
• Proficiency in Terraform, with a strong preference for Terragrunt expertise.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and OIDC federation.
• Ability to write scripts using Python or JavaScript to automate infrastructure tasks.
• Strong focus on clean engineering practices, testing, and the integration of AI tools to improve engineering impact.
