As a Contract Due Diligence Underwriter, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our loan manufacturing process by applying rigorous standards to a wide range of mortgage products.
Key responsibilities
- Review mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy and verify the presence of all required documentation.
- Perform due diligence on residential mortgage applications to ensure compliance with investor guidelines and AUS requirements.
- Analyze borrower credit profiles, collateral, and capacity to repay, including complex income calculations.
- Execute risk analysis and make informed decisions regarding identified deficiencies.
- Manage pipeline workloads efficiently to meet production goals while adhering to audit standards.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge and experience in the LauraMac Due Diligence software system.
- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience, with at least 1 year of specific Due Diligence experience.
- Deep understanding of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines, QM/ATR, and Non-QM loan processes.
- Proficiency in analyzing DSCR/business purpose loans and performing appraisal reviews.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
