Community Program Specialist

ALX Africa is a non-profit organization dedicated to unlocking the potential of Africa's digital future by providing world-class tech skills training. We are looking for a Community Program Specialist to join our high-performing team and help us foster a vibrant, member-driven community across the entire talent journey.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies to embed community engagement at every stage of the ALX talent journey.
• Manage and moderate our virtual community platform, eHub, ensuring it remains an active and useful space for learners and alumni.
• Plan, write, and distribute engaging community newsletters and communications to maintain a consistent brand voice.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure community-driven approaches are integrated into organizational workflows.
• Track and report on key engagement metrics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate program impact.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in community management, digital media, or program management within tech or education sectors.
• Proven experience managing online community platforms like Circle, Slack, or Discord at scale.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create compelling, on-brand content for newsletters and announcements.
• Proficiency in using email marketing tools and analyzing engagement data to inform strategy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment with a proactive and self-driven mindset.
