Civil Engineer

micro1 is seeking experienced Civil Engineers to contribute their professional expertise to a high-impact project focused on training next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will leverage your domain knowledge to create high-quality, real-world input that helps AI models learn, reason, and perform complex engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and author authentic civil engineering evaluation tasks covering structural design, transportation, water systems, and site development.
• Source, generate, and curate technical documentation including engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and regulatory code references.
• Develop challenging technical problems that require nuanced constraint reasoning and adherence to professional engineering standards.
• Determine accurate engineering solutions for each task while ensuring all relevant regulatory and geometric constraints are satisfied.
• Craft comprehensive rubrics for assessing technical correctness and code compliance in engineering scenarios.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience contributing to civil engineering projects across diverse domains.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of licensure is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery in preparing and managing technical documentation, including code-compliance and design specifications.
• Proficiency in generating or reviewing complex technical artifacts such as drawings, reports, and data sets.
• Strong written communication skills for authoring clear, comprehensive evaluation materials.
