The IFRS Foundation is inviting applications for membership in the SME Implementation Group (SMEIG) starting in 2027. This group plays a vital role in supporting the global application of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard and advising the International Accounting Standards Board on necessary updates.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the use of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard by addressing implementation questions.
- Developing publicly available educational material and Q&As to clarify accounting standards.
- Evaluating the need for amendments to the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard.
- Providing recommendations to the IASB regarding new or amended IFRS Accounting Standards.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and professional experience in financial reporting for small and medium-sized entities.
- Direct experience with the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard is highly preferred.
- Strong interest from candidates based in Asia or those representing users of SME financial statements, such as investors and lenders.
- Commitment to serving on a voluntary basis within a global, collaborative environment.
