Call for members: SME Implementation Group (SMEIG)

The IFRS Foundation is inviting applications for membership in the SME Implementation Group (SMEIG) starting in 2027. This group plays a vital role in supporting the global application of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard and advising the International Accounting Standards Board on necessary updates.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the use of the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard by addressing implementation questions.
• Developing publicly available educational material and Q&As to clarify accounting standards.
• Evaluating the need for amendments to the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard.
• Providing recommendations to the IASB regarding new or amended IFRS Accounting Standards.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and professional experience in financial reporting for small and medium-sized entities.
• Direct experience with the IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard is highly preferred.
• Strong interest from candidates based in Asia or those representing users of SME financial statements, such as investors and lenders.
• Commitment to serving on a voluntary basis within a global, collaborative environment.
