StoryGold is looking for a skilled CAD Evaluation Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role sits at the intersection of mechanical engineering and software automation, focusing on evaluating how effectively AI models perform complex technical design tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain execution harnesses that interface CAD platforms and simulation solvers with AI evaluation and reinforcement learning frameworks.
  • Design standardized benchmark tasks and physical ground-truth tests for CAD modeling, FEA, static stress, and thermal analysis workflows.
  • Inspect, debug, and grade CAD models, feature tree failures, constraint errors, and geometry rebuild issues generated by AI agents.
  • Implement automated scoring scripts, deterministic validation checks, and reward metrics to grade model tool-use and physics accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering simulation principles, including FEA, static analysis, stress, and thermal mechanics.
  • Hands-on experience with parametric CAD software such as SolidWorks, FreeCAD, Fusion 360, CadQuery, NX, or Creo.
  • Proficiency or a strong willingness to learn Python to execute scripts and maintain test harnesses.
  • Fluent technical English communication skills.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work at the cutting edge of AI and mechanical engineering integration.
  • A fully remote work environment that supports professional growth and technical innovation.
  • Engagement in challenging projects that bridge the gap between traditional CAD workflows and modern machine learning.
