C Embedded Software Engineer

SQUAD is looking for a skilled C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer to join our team dedicated to crafting reliable, high-performance solutions for the home security market. You will take ownership of critical software components, maintaining existing products and developing innovative new features in a collaborative, tech-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality embedded software in C/C++ for camera-based security devices.
• Debug and resolve complex software, hardware, and network connectivity issues across the entire software stack.
• Optimize software performance for resource-constrained embedded environments.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to team members.
• Collaborate with QA teams to develop comprehensive testing strategies and document software designs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of C proficiency in embedded, bare-metal, and RTOS environments.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded development.
• Understanding of multi-core architectures and inter-core communication.
• Proficiency in the full SDLC, including Git, CMake, and continuous integration.
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and debugging tools like JTAG.
• Experience with protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, and GPIO.
