Business System Analyst - Experienced

Horace Mann is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will operate with limited supervision to support critical business processes and enterprise technology systems, acting as a vital bridge between business units and technical teams to ensure strategic objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate both functional and non-functional requirements for complex systems.
• Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and perform detailed gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project deliverables while managing small to mid-sized initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders and technical resources to ensure alignment on project goals.
• Provide guidance and feedback to less experienced staff members while collaborating across departments to support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst.
• Proven track record of supporting broad-impact, cross-functional systems.
• Advanced skills in requirements elicitation, general analysis, and gap analysis.
• Strong ability to manage small-sized projects and tasks independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on stakeholder management.
