Big Data Engineer

AdvanSix is seeking a Big Data Engineer to build and operate an enterprise Unified Data Layer that bridges IT and OT systems. You will be responsible for delivering performant, trustworthy data products that support critical business functions including Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable ingestion pipelines using batch, CDC, and streaming methods.
• Develop dimensional and semantic models to support Power BI datasets and downstream AI/ML applications.
• Integrate OT data sources using secure patterns while collaborating with plant controls teams.
• Implement robust data quality checks, unit testing, and end-to-end monitoring to ensure system reliability.
• Automate deployment processes using Git-based CI/CD and optimize infrastructure costs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering building production-scale pipelines.
• Proficiency with the Azure data stack, including Databricks, Fabric, Synapse, and ADF.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA structures and semantic modeling.
• Understanding of OT concepts such as historians, OPC UA, and MQTT.
