Backup Management Technician for an MSP IT Company

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage backup jobs across platforms such as Veeam, StorageCraft, Synology, Azure, Datto, Avepoint, and Wasabi.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, perform regular restoration tests, and optimize retention policies.
• Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades while applying necessary security patches.
• Ensure all backup solutions comply with regulatory standards like HIPAA, GDPR, and SOC2.
• Generate detailed reports on backup status, storage utilization, and recovery metrics for stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in backup administration, disaster recovery, or IT support, preferably within an MSP environment.
• Hands-on expertise with industry-standard backup tools and cloud object storage solutions.
• Strong understanding of backup methodologies, replication strategies, and data protection compliance.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently.
• Relevant certifications in Veeam, StorageCraft, Datto, Avepoint, or Azure are considered a significant advantage.
