Backend Software Engineering Team Lead

Sporty Group is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineering Team Lead to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will lead a talented group of developers, balancing hands-on coding with line management to foster technical innovation and team growth within a fast-paced, remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a development team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure best practices in software development, code quality, and system architecture.
• Participate in high-level architecture and design decisions for complex, scalable software systems.
• Drive the development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring timely delivery.
• Conduct regular code reviews and manage team members' performance and career development.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, including mentoring and performance management.
• Strong expertise in software architecture and designing scalable, reliable microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and modern cloud-native technologies.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively within a remote, diverse team.
