Enveritas is a mission-driven non-profit and Y Combinator-backed startup dedicated to improving the livelihoods of coffee farmers worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our Engineering & Data Group and contribute to our EUDR engineering team on a fully remote basis.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, focusing on geospatial workflows, data validation, and error handling.
- Investigate and resolve system issues by tracing data and system behavior.
- Translate evolving regulatory requirements into practical, compliant engineering solutions.
- Collaborate on Python and PostgreSQL/PostGIS development while improving system observability and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage infrastructure changes using Terraform within AWS environments.
Requirements
- Minimum of seven years of full-time professional experience as a backend software engineer.
- Extensive experience with Python and advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and query optimization.
- Practical knowledge of Linux, Bash, Docker, and AWS services.
- Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional training.
