Backend Engineer

Synerise S.A. is seeking a highly motivated Backend Engineer to join our team in designing, building, and evolving a high-performance event processing and analytics platform. You will work on a production-grade, large-scale system that powers AI-driven customer experiences for enterprise clients worldwide, processing over 150 billion transactions annually.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architecture and design patterns to process and store high-volume data sets.
• Develop software with a core focus on optimization and performance.
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed system designs.
• Perform analysis of vast data stores to uncover actionable insights.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Scala or another JVM-based language.
• Solid understanding of Apache Kafka and Kubernetes.
• Experience with functional programming libraries such as Akka, ZIO, or Cats.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools in daily engineering tasks.
• Capacity to plan and scale systems to support rapid growth.
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
