Backend Engineer (Java)

Sonalake is a software partnering company dedicated to helping clients realize their product roadmaps through expert design and engineering. We are currently looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of efficient, high-quality server-side applications across a variety of complex domains.

Key responsibilities

• Develop rock-solid, efficient server-side applications using modern technologies.
• Write clean, readable, well-commented, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team alongside designers and other developers.
• Contribute to product innovation and participate in our open-source projects.
• Help evolve and improve our internal development standards, tooling, and processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with experience in frameworks like Spring, Quarkus, or Micronaut.
• Experience with Hibernate, JPA, and logging or telemetry frameworks.
• Strong familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, Git, and Linux command-line environments.
• Experience designing for and working with Amazon Web Services.
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to thrive in an autonomous, collaborative environment.
