Backend Engineer -Java/Scala/go

emagine Polska is looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join a team responsible for high-availability systems that manage content access, feature availability, and playback restrictions. You will play a key role in consolidating gating logic and enhancing the resilience of core access systems, ensuring that every user interaction is fast, reliable, and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate high-availability, low-latency backend services that make critical content and feature access decisions.
• Deliver roadmap features and improvements while collaborating closely with fellow engineers and management.
• Enhance the resilience and operability of core systems, focusing on caching, invalidation, and incident readiness.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-making processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure changes are implemented safely and documentation remains current.

Requirements

• Solid experience in building and operating backend services and APIs in production environments at scale.
• Proficiency in a backend language such as Java, Scala, or Go.
• Strong understanding of API design, schema evolution, and backward compatibility in stable systems.
• Experience with data pipelines and a clear understanding of the trade-offs between real-time and batch processing.
• Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases and collaborate effectively across diverse engineering teams.
