Backend Developer (Pharmaceutical domain)

Sigma Software is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join an international team working on a cutting-edge platform for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. You will contribute to the development of computational modeling solutions that accelerate medicine research and development, working in a collaborative, microservices-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust technical solutions, developing new features and maintaining existing software components.
• Perform peer code reviews and ensure high-quality engineering standards through unit and integration testing.
• Analyze complex requirements to prepare detailed technical designs and documentation.
• Actively participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, including estimation, grooming, and planning sessions.
• Collaborate directly with international stakeholders to align technical outputs with project goals.

Requirements

• Over 3 years of commercial software development experience with a strong focus on JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Solid hands-on experience with Node.js, NestJS, and Next.js in production environments.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and scalable API design.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-streaming technologies like NATS.io.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional, distributed teams.
