Backend developer - Content Platform - Java

emagine Polska is looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join the Content Platform team. You will work on the Content Catalog domain, which serves as the central source of truth for content management, ensuring that data is accurate, governed, and efficiently reused across the entire platform at a petabyte scale.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that manage the lifecycle of media files.
• Build and optimize data pipelines to handle content processing, storage, and deduplication.
• Model complex data structures for auditability, versioning, and efficient querying.
• Manage cloud infrastructure as code, ensuring high security, compliance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions for regulatory and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Solid experience in building and operating production-grade backend services using Java or Scala.
• Strong understanding of API design, schema evolution, and backward compatibility.
• Proficiency with cloud data services, including object storage, NoSQL databases, and message queues.
• Experience with data pipelines and understanding the trade-offs between batch and real-time processing.
• Ability to navigate complex codebases and communicate technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
