Miris is seeking exceptional and outcome-focused Applied Researchers at all levels to join our friendly and fully remote R&D team. You will navigate the fast-moving Gaussian splatting and radiance field research to find and adapt existing techniques, pushing beyond the bleeding edge to deliver exceptional immersive streaming experiences to low-powered mobile devices.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct applied research into novel methods for representing, compressing, and streaming animated 3D content with a focus on efficiency for mobile AR/VR devices.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and transition successful experiments into production-ready code to advance our streaming pipeline.
- Design and evaluate algorithms for spatial data optimization and adaptive streaming based on network conditions and device capabilities.
- Collaborate with rendering, cloud, and content processing engineers to establish robust workflows for automated processing of user input data.
- Proactively follow and apply the latest computer graphics research related to novel view synthesis, radiance fields, and differentiable rendering.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record in areas such as radiance fields, photogrammetry, machine learning for graphics, or real-time rendering.
- Strong understanding of modern 3D rendering pipelines and excellent programming skills in Python and C++.
- Experience with performance optimization and writing efficient code for resource-constrained environments.
- Ability to quickly understand and implement complex research papers and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
