Application Security Team Lead

We are looking for an Application Security Team Lead to drive our security program while mentoring a high-performing team of engineers in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Application Security Engineers, setting the roadmap, KPIs, and technical direction.
• Drive end-to-end security initiatives including threat modeling, design reviews, and manual or automated penetration testing.
• Manage vulnerability lifecycles and bug bounty programs, ensuring effective remediation across engineering teams.
• Optimize the AppSec tooling stack and integrate security deeply into CI/CD pipelines to support developer workflows.
• Assess and secure AI/ML features and LLM integrations by defining best practices and safety guardrails.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in Application Security or Product Security with a proven track record of leadership or mentoring.
• Deep understanding of common vulnerability classes, secure design principles, and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Strong hands-on experience with penetration testing of web applications and APIs.
• Solid knowledge of authentication, authorization, cryptography, and security testing methodologies like SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical risks to both engineers and leadership.
