API Architect

Ready4S is looking for an experienced API Architect to serve as the technical point of reference within our organization. You will be responsible for setting the vision, principles, and best practices for API design and governance to ensure the consistency, high quality, and scalability of our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define architecture strategy and standards for REST, gRPC, GraphQL, versioning, security, observability, and SLAs.
• Create style guides, templates, and linters that enable consistent microservice development.
• Advise product and engineering teams throughout the API life-cycle, from discovery and API-first design to deployment and deprecation.
• Lead design-review boards and architecture committees while evangelizing best practices through workshops and documentation.
• Select and govern API-management platforms and contract tooling while defining success metrics for API quality and reliability.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience designing and building large-scale APIs, with at least 3 years in an architect or tech lead role.
• Expertise in contract-first design using OpenAPI 3.x and JSON Schema.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and Go, with the ability to review and propose patterns in all three languages.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes, and service meshes like Istio or Linkerd.
• Strong experience with Git-based CI/CD, contract testing, and load testing methodologies.
