Android Developer

Lush is a purpose-led, employee-owned global cosmetics retailer looking for a Midweight Android Developer to join our digital team. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable Android applications that support our global retail and spa operations while contributing to an ethical, forward-thinking business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build mission-critical Android applications with a global reach.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create end-to-end products while working closely with UI designers.
• Fix bugs in existing software and modernize applications using the latest technologies.
• Apply TDD practices and work with QA teams to create robust test suites.
• Mentor junior developers and share expertise through documentation and skill-sharing.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with the Android SDK, application lifecycle, and core OS integration.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with strong version control skills using Git.
• Proven ability to build and integrate RESTful JSON APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, Bitrise, or Jenkins.
• Practical experience deploying and managing apps via Google Play Console and MDM tools.
• Strong agile mindset with a track record of delivering high-quality software under pressure.
