AI Systems Architect

5Blue Software is seeking a senior AI Systems Architect to join an early-stage engineering team building a platform for large-scale data processing and model evaluation. This role offers the opportunity to shape core systems from the foundation up, focusing on agentic systems, high-volume data pipelines, and automated evaluation frameworks designed for reliability at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build agentic systems and automation from scratch, including automated evaluation loops for iterative improvement.
• Own large-scale data pipelines, ensuring high record volumes, statistical validation, and full traceability.
• Apply workflow orchestration to maintain reliability in complex, high-throughput processing environments.
• Perform hands-on technical tasks including SQL development, custom reporting, and production debugging.
• Act as a primary technical partner for architecture and design reviews.

Requirements

• Strong architectural thinking with a focus on component design, ownership boundaries, and system reusability.
• Proven experience building agentic systems and automation independently beyond existing frameworks.
• Extensive background working with data at scale, such as in ad tech, financial systems, or cybersecurity.
• A research-minded approach with the ability to conduct clean experiments and defend results under scrutiny.
• Comfortable working across the full stack, including backend development, SQL, and operations.
