AI Software Architect (MCP/JS)

Sigma Software is seeking an experienced AI Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable engineering foundations for enterprise-wide MCP adoption. You will work on technically challenging products for a rapidly growing European FinTech company, focusing on building reusable TypeScript/Node.js libraries, SDKs, and AI orchestration workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core MCP platform capabilities, including clients, servers, and tool invocation patterns.
• Define reference architectures and engineering standards for MCP servers, schemas, authentication, and context handling.
• Build reusable TypeScript/Node.js libraries, SDKs, and starter projects to support multiple product teams.
• Establish architectural guidance for selecting between MCP, A2A communication, and traditional API integration patterns.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership in AI integration and platform engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of production experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• 2+ years of experience in software architecture, backend platform engineering, or technical leadership.
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, or developer platforms.
• Practical experience with MCP clients, servers, tools, and LLM tool invocation.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, interface design, and versioning strategies.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
