Abilene Christian University is seeking an Adjunct Dissertation Chair and Reader to support our EdD in Organizational Leadership program. This role is dedicated to mentoring Christian scholar-practitioners as they navigate the dissertation process, ensuring high standards of academic rigor and ethical research practices.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a primary mentor for doctoral candidates, guiding them through the development and completion of their dissertation chapters.
- Provide scholarly review and constructive feedback on research design, methodology, and academic writing.
- Ensure student compliance with program templates, research standards, and university IRB requirements.
- Coordinate with committee members and program leadership to monitor student progress and prepare candidates for their final defense.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with students while upholding academic integrity and ethical scholarship.
Requirements
- Earned Ph.D., Ed.D., or other terminal degree in Organizational Leadership or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies and experience conducting original research.
- Strong academic writing skills and the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to graduate-level students.
- Professionalism, collegiality, and a commitment to supporting the Christian mission and purpose of the university.
